One Hundred and Eighty ---------------------- Written by Andrew Routledge Cast and backdrops by jeremy nelson Music by David Whittaker A Binary Design Ltd production (c) 1986 Mastertronic ----------------------------- The game consists of three games: Press keys one to three to activate one of the games when the title screen is displayed. one - Five hundred and one countdown (play agains the computer) two - Around the clock (practice) three - Two-player game (play against a friend - or enemy!) Control is by joystick in port two. ---------------------------------------- Game #1: -------- In this game you play a championship tournament. To win you must beat three opponents. (The computer selects them randomly!) You and the computer compete to see who can score 501 first, on a best of three sets. You can throw at any part of the board you like but you must finish by hitting a double, i.e. if you need 4 to win, you aim for the double two, not single four! The bullseye in the center counts as double 25 and is thus a legal finishing shot. For each set the highest number you can finish with is 170 (two triple 20's, then bullseye!). So three triple 20's give 180... but that's not legal according to the rules above! Below find some rambling the author put in his code (after all when playing darts it is rare to be sober...) which explains how he came up with 180 as the name of the game... ---------------------------------------- Game #2.: --------- This is the practice game. You have to hit each number in sequence, from 1 to 20 in a limited time! ---------------------------------------- Game #3: -------- This is same as game #1 , but you play against a human opponent. ************************************************************* The enebriated rambling found in the code: --------------------------------------------------- greetings to jocelyn the friend of all friends. mega hand by ste pickford trendy talker alias pete gartside i wanted to do it but my voice isnt northern enough... mega mentions firstly to jos because i like her laddie glenn, mark + mum and dad, ben gareth and adam sofia, heuston davvey, babes and mags & greetings to everyone at binary design. off to see the housemartin's next week, reckons i'll have a sound time. today for my din din i had a chille spud. hello philip nuttall how are you doing! jocelyn jocelyn destination zululand, the pogues, king kurt! good golly miss molly, dont be a reactionary sterotype it's bad for the health oh yes i well loved paris especially franklin d roosevelt elementry school hello anthony bridge have you changed your name to marteus crab yet? hey babe take a walk on the wild side! ----------------------------------------------------- this next bit was put on a few weeks later when tidying up... ----------------------------------------------------- saw the housemartins on friday night well, good, and well, that's all for now! its nearly dinner and i'm starving, i vill not talk well here i am sitting on the floor coding away with anthony hassling me with the trackball and lee's here. hassle night tonight: just meant to add the final touches when --blammo, my joystick broke... argh!
